Delta Reign prerelease events begin today, and the set has one more surprise ready for launch week. The store promos for the set were revealed on October 23, and this time the lineup is a trio of legends. Kyogre, Groudon, and Giratina each headline a promo card, and each one lives at a different group of retailers, so completing the trio will take a little planning.

How the Promos Work

As usual, you will need to spend $15 or more on Pokemon TCG products at a participating retailer to receive a promo, and the offer runs at retailer websites as well as in stores. Every promo carries the 30th anniversary What's Your Favorite? logo as its stamp, sitting right on the artwork in place of a store logo or a set logo. All three cards should be printed on cosmos holofoil paper, which gives them a sparkle the regular set versions do not have.

Kyogre Makes a First Happen

Kyogre is the most widely spread of the three promos. It will be available at Hot Topic, Barnes & Noble, BoxLunch, and Macy's, and that last name is a small piece of TCG history, because this is the first time Macy's stores have offered Pokemon promo cards.

The card itself is Kyogre 026/103, a Basic Water type with 150 HP, illustrated by Anderson. Waterfall does 40 damage, while Brutal Whirlpool does 100 and also does 50 damage to each of your opponent's Benched Pokemon when a Stadium with Legendary in its name is in play. That bonus fits the set perfectly, since Delta Reign is built around its new Legendary Stadium cards.

Groudon Comes to EB Games in Canada

Groudon is the promo with a Canadian home. It will be at GameStop in the United States, and at EB Games in Canada and Australia. For Canadian collectors, that makes Groudon the one to plan around first.

Groudon is card 053/103, a Basic Fighting type with 150 HP, illustrated by Nisota Niso. Strength does 40 damage, and Brutal Lands starts at 100 damage before adding 170 more when that same Legendary Stadium condition is met. A Basic Pokemon swinging for 270 is a serious threat, and this artwork of Groudon wading through lava is hard to forget.

Giratina Guards the Third Spot

Giratina rounds out the trio at Best Buy in the United States, with Toymate and Mr Toys carrying the promo in Australia. Giratina is card 045/103, a Basic Psychic type with 130 HP, illustrated by toriyufu.

Its only attack, Chaos Crawler, does 120 damage and then prevents all damage from attacks done to Giratina during your opponent's next turn. The catch is that you cannot use Chaos Crawler again on the following turn, so Giratina asks you to time its big swing with care.

Plan the Hunt Early

All three promos use the regular set numbers, so they will slot right into a Delta Reign binder beside the pack versions. Delta Reign launches on November 6, and promo cards for a popular set can move quickly once launch day arrives, especially when each one is tied to a different retailer.

If the full trio is your goal, it is worth deciding now which retailer you will visit for each card and checking how the offer will work at your store before November 6. Kyogre and Groudon together again, Giratina in the mix, and a first ever promo at Macy's make this one of the more fun promo rounds in a while. Good luck completing your set of three.
