Day or Night: The 30th Celebration Ultra Premium Collections Arrive November 6
Every big set deserves a flagship box, and 30th Celebration is getting two of them. The Ultra Premium Collections arrive on November 6 in a Day version built around Espeon ex and a Night version built around Umbreon ex. Preorder listings went live this week, and with launch day now a little over two weeks away, this feels like the right moment to look closely at what is actually inside and which version belongs in your collection.
What Is Inside Each Box
Both versions carry the same core contents. Each box holds 29 booster packs from 30th Celebration, plus one Classic Collection pack holding three cards from the Classic Collection. You also get two foil promo cards, a Pikachu ex and either an Espeon ex in the Day box or an Umbreon ex in the Night box. A playmat, 65 card sleeves, a deck box, a metal coin, six damage counter dice and a code card for Pokemon TCG Live round out the package, with the artwork on the accessories matching your chosen version.
The price is $179.99 USD ($253 CAD). Spread across 30 packs, that works out to about $6.00 USD ($8 CAD) a pack, with the promos, playmat and accessories counted on top. For a set that is only sold inside products, this is the biggest single source of packs in the whole lineup, and it is easy to see why collectors have been watching this release since it was first announced.
Day or Night Is the Real Choice
The packs are identical either way, so the decision comes down to the Eeveelution in front of you. Espeon ex has been charming collectors all set long. The main set version at 070/128 is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokemon with 260 HP, and its Solar Beatdown attack does 30 damage for each of your Pokemon in play, which rewards a full Bench in a very satisfying way.
Umbreon ex makes the opposite case. The main set version at 092/128 is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokemon with 270 HP, and Lunatic Claw hits for 100 damage, plus 140 more when the opposing Active Pokemon already carries damage counters. It is a patient and punishing card, and Umbreon fans have never needed much convincing anyway.
Whichever version you pick, the packs inside are chasing the same treasures. Pikachu ex at 150/128, with its joyful fireworks artwork by kantaro, sat at $60.45 USD ($85 CAD) on TCGplayer this week, and it is only one of many cards in this set that people are still hunting a month after launch.
A Very Full Release Day
November 6 is crowded in the best way. Delta Reign, the next Mega Evolution expansion, launches on the same day, and 30th Celebration adds even more on top of the Ultra Premium Collections. The Ditto Premium Collection arrives at $39.99 USD ($56 CAD) with eight packs, a Ditto promo and an acrylic display piece. The Figure Collections follow at $29.99 USD ($42 CAD), each with five packs, promo cards and a sculpted figure of Mew or Mewtwo.
With so much landing at once, it pays to decide your priorities early and give yourself a clear budget. Anniversary product like this can be hard to track down, and nobody should feel rushed into a big box on launch morning. Pick the version that speaks to you, Day or Night, and enjoy the opening when it comes. Thirty years of Pokemon is worth celebrating properly, one glorious pack at a time.
