Last Call for the Megas: The Final Roster Is Set

The last pieces of the Mega Evolution puzzle fell into place today, with a report that Mega Glimmora ex and Floatzel ex will appear in Aura Seeker, the Japanese set arriving November 27. The news completes the lineup: Mega Absol Z ex, Mega Lucario Z ex, Mega Garchomp Z ex, and now Mega Glimmora ex.

One Parade, Then a New Era

With Aura Seeker accounted for, every Mega card planned before the final set is now known. That set is Mega x Mega Parade, landing in Japan on February 19 as the annual High Class Pack release. It will feature Mega Raichu X ex and Mega Raichu Y ex, returning Megas, and a new chase card, the Mega Attack Rare. Two numbers are already public: Mega Greninja ex at 208 of 178, and Mega Rayquaza ex at 218 of 178. A boxed MEGA Attack Special Set follows on March 19 at 3,960 yen, likely with more promos. After that, a new Pokemon ex series arrives in the spring, and Mega Evolution Pokemon step aside, much like Tera and Paradox Pokemon did before them.

The Megas Still Waiting

That ending raises a fun and slightly painful question. Which Megas run out of time? Sixteen Mega Evolutions have never received a physical card, among them Mega Victreebel, Mega Banette, Mega Chesnaught, Mega Falinks, and Mega Baxcalibur. Only Mega Pinsir, Mega Medicham, and Mega Banette of that group date back to Pokemon X and Y and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Pinsir and Medicham so far live only in TCG Pocket. Another 24 Megas have physical cards from years past but have not returned in this block, among them Mega Beedrill, Mega Pidgeot, Mega Gyarados, Mega Salamence, and Mega Metagross.

Space in the Parade is tight. In the last High Class Pack set, every Mega also received a Mega Attack Rare, and the known Parade numbers leave little room for many new Mega Pokemon ex cards. Some missing Megas could land as simpler prints, some could turn up in the March special set, and some could be saved for TCG Pocket, where sets arrive more often. But if the pattern holds, a few beloved Megas will be left waiting when the curtain falls.

Lopunny Shows the Wait Can End Well

There is hope in the recent record, and Mega Lopunny ex is the proof. Lopunny never got a Mega card during the original run. It shared a TAG TEAM card in the Sun and Moon era, and years later it finally received a standalone Mega card in Phantasmal Flames. The Special Illustration Rare printing, numbered 128 of 94 and illustrated by Kinu Nishimura, is a 330 HP Stage 1 with real flair. Gale Thrust hits for 60 and climbs by 170 more when Lopunny moves from the Bench to the Active Spot, while Spiky Hopper lands a solid 160. A long wait, and it made the moment count.

What It Means in Canada

For collectors in Canada, this Japanese news lands closer to home than it might seem. The Aura Seeker Megas should reach English in Flowing Fists on February 5, 2027, giving Mega Glimmora ex its English moment in the new year. In the nearer term, Delta Reign arrives this Friday, November 6, and winter will bring a steady stream of Parade reveals from Japan. Now is a good time to note which missing Megas matter most to your collection. If your favourite is still on the waiting list, February is its last and best chance.
