The 30th Celebration has been rolling out in waves since September, and its biggest remaining wave reaches Canada this Friday, November 6. The headliners are two Premium Figure Collections, one for Mew and one for Mewtwo, the original legendary pair. They share the date with a brand new expansion, which makes Friday the fullest release day of the fall.
Figures Worth Clearing Shelf Space For
Each collection is sold on its own, priced at $99.95 CAD. Inside the box sit five 30th Celebration booster packs, a foil promo card, an oversize card of the same Pokemon, and the reason the box carries the word Premium: a sculpted figure. The figures come from Kaiyodo, with Mew sculpted by Taro Murai and Mewtwo by Daichi F Sugimoto. They are display pieces first and pack carriers second, the kind of box that stays on the shelf long after the packs are opened.
The Cards Behind the Figures
Mew and Mewtwo are not random choices. The pair anchor the set at its highest rarity, the Futuristic Rares illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN with a chrome look that suits the two most storied Psychic types in the game. Mewtwo ex, numbered 157 of 128, is a 230 HP Basic whose Photon Bullets attack puts 50 damage on each of your opponent's Pokemon ex, on the Bench as well. It pressures a whole board at once, exactly the way Mewtwo should.

Mew ex, numbered 158 of 128, plays the trickster at 160 HP. Its Memory Helix Ability lets it use the attacks of any of your Benched Pokemon, so a Mew deck quietly becomes every deck at once. Few cards in the set reward a full Bench like this one does, and the art gives the little mythical a shine worthy of the anniversary.

Ditto Rounds Out the Wave
The same day also brings the Ditto Premium Collection, priced at $149.95 CAD. It trades the figure for an acrylic display stand and carries eight booster packs plus a foil Ditto promo. Friday is crowded beyond the anniversary line as well, since Delta Reign reaches stores that morning too. One more wave follows on December 4, with the Binder Collection and the ex Tins, and then the celebration is complete.
Plan for Friday Morning
A fair warning before the weekend. Preorders for both figure collections sold through days ahead of release. The pattern from the earlier waves is holding: the special boxes move first, and the collectors who plan ahead do the smiling. If a figure has your name on it, be ready on Friday morning, in store or online, and keep a second option in mind. Thirty years into this hobby, Mew and Mewtwo can still start a lineup. Some legends earn it.
