One Stadium, Two Cards: Delta Reign's Latest Reveals Are Heating Up

With exactly one month to go until Mega Evolution: Delta Reign hits shelves on November 6, the reveals are coming in hot. The latest batch of five cards gives us the full picture of the set's brand new Legendary Stadium mechanic, plus two more illustration rares to watch, and it might be the most interesting drop of the reveal season so far.

The Stadium you build in two halves

The headliner is Legendary Pyroduct, the first Stadium card in Pokémon TCG history that you play with two cards. You cannot put a single copy into play on its own. Instead, you combine the two different Legendary Pyroduct cards (094/103 and 095/103) from your hand to play them as one Stadium.

Once both halves hit the table, the effect is serious: while Legendary Pyroduct is in play, both players' Evolution Pokémon have no Abilities. That is a condition decks get built around, the kind of blanket lock that whole strategies get built around, but assembling two specific cards in hand is a real cost. We have seen ideas like this before with Pokémon LEGEND and Pokémon V-UNION, but this is the first time the idea has come to Stadiums, and it is exciting to see design space like this opening up.

The art earns the mechanic too. Illustrator akagi painted the two halves as one continuous volcanic scene, with Growlithe, Magmar, Steelix, and Heatmor spread across the frame. It is a real scientific name as well: a pyroduct is a lava tube, an underground channel formed by flowing lava, which fits the molten artwork perfectly.

Enamorus gets the soft touch

The Love Hate Pokémon continues to be one of the best illustrated characters in the game. Enamorus' new Illustration Rare (110/103) comes from Taira Akitsu, and it is all calm winter energy: snowcapped mountains, drifting heart shaped pink flourishes, and a single flower in the foreground. It is one of the softer scenes revealed from the set so far, and it will look fantastic in a binder page.

On the play side, Enamorus carries the Incarnate Solidarity Ability, which rewards you for having Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, and Enamorus all in play at once. Gathering the full forces of nature quartet is a fun deckbuilding puzzle, even if it never becomes a tournament staple.

Aarune, the perfect partner card

Aarune, the Secret Base expert from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, gets a Special Illustration Rare (139/103) from Shimaris Yukichi in a charming chibi style. But this one is more than a pretty face. Aarune searches your deck for up to three Supporter and Stadium cards in any combination, which makes it the obvious partner for Legendary Pyroduct, since a single Supporter can fetch both Stadium halves at once. Cards that quietly enable the set's headline mechanic are always worth keeping an eye on.

The regular rares are sneaky good

The two non holo reveals are worth a look too. Hypno comes from debut artist Yuta Kawazu, and its Mind Ruler attack does 20 damage for each card in your opponent's hand, which climbs fast against draw heavy decks. Kecleon's Colorful Whip does 30 damage for each Pokémon you reveal from your hand with a different type, with ten types in the format today. And Zorua joins the set as an Illustration Rare, giving collectors another artwork chase beyond the Mega Evolution ex cards.

One month out, Delta Reign is shaping up to be a strong close to the year. Prerelease events start October 24, and if your calendar allows, that is the first chance to sleeve up these new cards and see which ones actually deliver at the table.
