Second Wave Alert: 30th Celebration Mini Tins and Booster Bundles Just Dropped

The Pokémon 30th Celebration party is not over. On Friday, the second wave of 30th Celebration products hit stores: Booster Bundles with six packs each, and a full lineup of ten Mini Tins. If you missed out on the September 16 launch, or you are still chasing the set’s best pulls, this is the restock moment collectors have been waiting for.

What just landed

The Booster Bundle keeps it simple: six 30th Celebration packs, nothing fancy, just more shots at the chase cards. The suggested price is 26.94 USD ($38.40 CAD).

The Mini Tins are the stars of the wave. Each one costs 9.99 USD ($14.24 CAD) and includes two booster packs, a sticker sheet, an art card, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. Some big box stores saw stock arrive as early as Wednesday and have been restocking through the weekend, but none of it sticks around for long. Like most Pokémon product right now, expect a hunt if you go looking.

The tins are collectible too

These are not generic tins. The ten designs come in day and night themes, and each one features Unown posed so that the whole set spells out the word Anniversary when you line them up. The tins also slot together into two bigger scenes, a forest and a city, which makes a complete set genuinely fun to display. At ten dollars a tin, building the full set is one of the more affordable collecting side quests the hobby has seen in a while.

What to hunt for inside

Every 30th Celebration pack is fully foil, and the published pull rates have stayed generous, with Special Illustration Rares showing up roughly once in every 19 packs. The biggest dreams are still the two Futuristic Rares, Mew ex and Mewtwo ex, but the regular chase cards are nothing to sneeze at either.

Jirachi ex is one of the prettiest cards in the set. Its Wish Granter Ability lets you draw until you have seven cards in hand, and Swift hits for 150 while ignoring Weakness, Resistance, and effects on the Active. A real stunner in person.

Pikachu ex brings the party with it. The artwork is a full anniversary celebration scene, and Zip-Zap Frenzy lets you attach any number of Basic Energy from your hand to your Pokémon in any way you like. Thunder then swings for 200, with 30 splash damage to itself.

And do not sleep on the Illustration Rares. Galarian Meowth might be my favorite common pull in the whole set: a cozy cafe scene, a Pay Day that draws you a card, and a Treasure Rush that deals 10 damage for every card in your hand.

The takeaway

New packs are out there again, and 30th Celebration remains the friendliest set to collect in years. Happy hunting, and if you would rather skip the line, our 30th Celebration singles are ready when you are.
