Missing No More: The Full Art Rayquaza Returns on February 12
The mystery lasted about a week. When the full English set list for Delta Reign became public, collectors spotted a gap at the top of the chase ladder. The full art Ultra Rare print of Mega Rayquaza ex was not in the set, even though Japan had pulled that print from Storm Emeralda packs back in July. On October 29, the answer arrived. The card was never cancelled. It was being saved for a box of its own, the Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection, which releases on February 12, 2027.
The card itself, guaranteed in every box
The best news in the reveal is how the card will be sold. The full art Mega Rayquaza ex comes as a guaranteed foil promo, so every box holds one. Nobody has to chase this print through booster packs and hope for a lucky pull. For a card this popular, that is a kind way to release it.
The card underneath the artwork is the same Mega Rayquaza ex that headlines Delta Reign. It is a Basic Colorless Pokemon with 280 HP. Its Ability, Ruler's Roar, attaches a Basic Energy from the top four cards of your deck when Rayquaza moves from your hand to your Bench. Its attack, Storm Emerald, does 50 damage for each Fire Energy and each Lightning Energy attached to all of your Pokemon. Like every Mega Evolution ex, it gives up three Prize cards when it is Knocked Out, so the power comes with real risk.
Three more promos and a Stadium in two parts
Three more foil promo cards join the Rayquaza, and all three support the deck it wants to lead. Zinnia's Trust is a Supporter that switches your Active Pokemon with a Benched one and moves an Energy across with it, a fitting role for the character tied to Rayquaza since the Delta Episode. Adventure Lantern and Mega Rayquaza Cap round out the trio. The box also holds both cards that combine to form Legendary Summit, the split Stadium from Delta Reign, printed as cards 096 and 097 of 103. The two halves count as one Stadium, and while it is in play, Colorless Pokemon give up one fewer Prize card when they are Knocked Out by damage from an opponent attack.
Dragon Shield joins the party
There is a second first hiding in this box. The collection includes 65 card sleeves and a deck box made by Dragon Shield, and this marks the first time The Pokemon Company International has worked with Dragon Shield on an official product. Pokemon accessories have come from Ultra PRO for years, so fresh sleeves from a beloved maker is a real event for players. Eight booster packs and a plastic Pokemon coin complete the box, along with a code card for Pokemon TCG Live. An official price has not been listed yet, and the pack mix inside those eight boosters has not been confirmed, so hold off on judging the value until those two details land.
What this means for Delta Reign
Delta Reign itself still launches on November 6, with Prerelease events running through November 1. The set keeps its Special Illustration Rare and gold Mega Hyper Rare prints of Mega Rayquaza ex in packs, so opening day loses none of its excitement. Anyone building the Delta Reign binder now has a February box on the shopping list as well, and anyone who only wanted the full art can skip the pack gamble and wait for the guaranteed promo. Three months is a short wait for the card that started the conversation.
